Service-Learning Club

The Service Learning Club (SLC) aims to nurture every club member to learn values through action, and to serve the community with passion.

SLC members had ample opportunities to serve the community through various organisations and activities in 2017.

Food donation drive for Food from the Heart

ECo-Serve Week and Earth Hour  Earth-Hour-booth-at-Clementi.jpg

I n conjunction with ECo-Serve Week, SLC members set up a food donation drive booth at our school canteen to encourage Nan Huarians to donate to Food from the Heart.  There was overwhelming response from everyone as there was an increase in the donations compared to last year’s.

We were also involved in the planning and setting up of interactive games booths during the Earth Hour event at Clementi.  The residents were engaged in various activities to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our environment.  It was also a good opportunity for students to develop confidence in reaching out to members of the public.

Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP)

TCM lesson with Dr Tan Bee Gawh

This year’s beneficiary was Xin Yuan Community Care.  We learnt about the benefits of different types of herbs and flowers to the elderly’s mental health.  There were also a fun competition to make fragrance bags of flowers used to relieve stress and a healthy salad-making class.
